CW Unveils Black Lightning First Look

By Todd BlackMay 18, 2017
Black Lightning

The newest superhero show to come to CW has officially gotten its first trailer. Black Lightning follows Jefferson Pierce, who used to be a superhero, but made a promise to give it up. But now, with his children in danger and his home city under siege by a massive gang, he must suit up once again to protect everyone. Here’s the official synopsis and the first look at the series:

“Jefferson Pierce is a man wrestling with a secret. Nine years ago, Pierce was gifted with the superhuman power to harness and control electricity, which he used to keep his hometown streets safe as the masked vigilante Black Lightning. However, after too many nights with his life and his family on the line, he left his Super Hero days behind. Almost a decade later, Pierce’s crime-fighting days are long behind him…or so he thought. But with crime and corruption spreading like wildfire, Black Lightning returns — to save not only his family, but also the soul of his community.”

It should be noted that Black Lightning is NOT a part of the Arrowverse, at least, not at present. This is because (for now) the show is being filmed in Atlanta, while the others are filmed in Canada.

Another interesting note is that the show will debut in midseason.
