The Overwatch Winter Wonderland Event is now Live from Now Until Jan. 2 2017

By Keith MitchellDecember 13, 2016

Here we go, gang! Blizzard has released the long awaited holiday timed-event, Winter Wonderland, for Overwatch. Included in the festivities are new skins for your favorite Overwatch characters, both Hanamura and King’s Row have been decked out in all of the best holiday trimmings. As with previous events, Winter Loot Boxes can be earned or purchased, and each will contain at least one item from our 2016 Winter Wonderland collection—including profile icons, sprays, victory poses, emotes, highlight intros, skins, and more! While the contents of each seasonal Loot Box are random, you can unlock a variety of these cordial customization options in the Hero Gallery throughout the event’s duration.

A new brawl has also been added just for the occasion – Mei’s Snowball Offensive. This brawl is a 6v6, single elimination event where everyone gets to run around as Mei, pelting everyone in the face with snowballs. Yes, snowballs, as Mei’s Endothermic Blaster has been outfitted to fire off snowballs instead. I wonder if she’s packing rocks inside of those snowballs.

This timed event starts today and will run up until the new year, ending on January 2nd, 2017. The Overwatch Winter Wonderland is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, so get going and have some holiday cheer!
