We did it! Mortal Kombat XL is coming to the PC

By Keith MitchellSeptember 2, 2016

Color me surprised, in more ways than one. Not too long ago, both WB Games and NetherRealm had basically told the PC gaming community to bugger off when it came to Mortal Kombat XL and the Kombat Pack 2. They basically flat out told us that neither were coming to the PC and that they were ending support for the PC. Definitely, a bad move on their part as we actually enjoyed the game and even though it sold only 500,000 copies on the PC, that’s not a small feat for a fighting game on PC. As you know, I’ve been quite vocal (here and here) regarding their decisions to constantly take advantage of the PC gaming community, and I’m exactly sure what made the companies change their mind but I’m glad they did.

First, they gave us a taste of Mortal Kombat XL for free during the past weekend and now they’ve announced that Mortal Kombat XL and the Kombat Pack 2 will be released for the PC! Set for release on October 4, 2016, and it appears that this content will be free. They’ve added a Steam page for it which you can view here as well. Obviously, you’ll need to own the Mortal Kombat X for the PC all ready to take advantage of this, but at least we’re finally getting it.

Perhaps this means that we may even get Injustice 2 on the PC eventually.

What do you think about all this? Do you think that the companies either decided that they did their customers wrong or do you think it was the pressure that finally made them decide to port over the Mortal Kombat XL to PC? Sound off in the comments below.
