Free Update to Stardust Galaxy Warriors Adds New Modes, Playable Character

By Keith MitchellJuly 5, 2016

Get ready to dust off that copy of Stardust Galaxy Warriors and yes, I know you can’t actually dust off a digital game. C’mon, people… work with me here. Anyway, I was hit up recently by Steve from Dreamloop, the team behind Stardust Galaxy Warriors, which we reviewed here. He’s pretty excited and states that there’s a free update, Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax, which includes updated visuals, better game performance, New Game Plus, and a new playable character. In addition, the New Game Plus mode will let gamers carry their progress over to a new campaign with a higher difficulty level.

As Steve puts it, this is how the team envisioned Stardust Galaxy Warriors to be from the start, so with this final piece of DLC, the game will finally be complete.

“One thing we’re concerned about is Steam’s ability to help us convey that we’re upgrading the game to the definitive edition without launching it as a separate title. We don’t want to make people pay twice. The players deserve the best version we can deliver for supporting us. We’re working on something big to try to get the point across that this is basically a better game, free for our current players.”, said Stewart, highlighting the difficulties of releasing a director’s edition as a free update, a rather unknown concept.

Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax is scheduled for release on August 19th, 2016. If you haven’t checked out the game yet, I highly recommended it.  Get your copy here.
