Minecraft Realms Unites the Minecraft Universe

By Karl SmartJune 13, 2016

Announced at E3 2016 during the Microsoft Press Conference, Minecraft Realms connects people playing on iOS, Android, Gear VR & Windows 10 devices. Called “The Friendly Update”, Minecraft Realms is the first time that cross-platform play is available for the 14 million unit player base. The update with Realms is available right now through your Minecraft launcher.

Also coming in Fall, Addons for Pocket & Windows 10 editions of Minecraft. Some of these texture packs and addons do things never seen in Minecraft before; like turning Zombies into Aliens with lazer guns, and Cyber Golems.

While this does nothing for people playing on PC, PS4 or Xbox One, it is a step closer to a true Minecraft Universe…. If you have an Xbox Live account.
