New Eye Pleasing DRAGON QUEST XI Screenshots

Square Enix has put out some of the first screenshots of Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time and they are here in all of their glory courtesy of Gematsu. The PS4 version is looking particularly beautiful. It is keeping the same cel-shaded look that the series has evolved into, but with far more detail:

Interestingly, the 3DS version will sport both the modern 3D graphics and a more retro, classic Dragon Quest feel:

Unfortunately, no plans exist at the moment to bring the title to the West. Currently,  it’s slated for a 2016 release on PS4, 3DS and possibly the NX to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the series. I will take it very personally if Square Enix does not announce some sort of “plan” for localization before then. Be sure to check out some early gameplay below.
