The IP Man himself, Donnie Yen, has been cast for a role in Star Wars Episode VIII!
Ok, not the actual IP Man himself, but the man that has become famous for portraying IP Man in the series of IP Man movies: Donnie Yen, has been cast for a unknown role in Star Wars: Episode VIII. The role is reportedly going to share the stage with Han Solo and may appear in Star Wars: Rogue One as well.
The report states that Yen won out against the likes of Jet Li, Stephen Chow, and Daniel Wu. The report also states that Yen will be departing in August to start filming Episode VIII which would also allow him to record a role for Rogue One.
Star Wars: Rogue One is set to debut December 16, 2016 and Star Wars: Episode VIII is set for May 26, 2017.
