My impression of Square's Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn so far

By Keith MitchellAugust 29, 2013

So I’ve been playing the rebirth of Square-Enix’s Final Fantasy XIV MMORPG and I was fortunate enough to have been able to play in both the 3rd and 4th beta phases that I did enjoy. Keep in mind that while I was playing the beta I was also still playing World of Warcraft, so that in it’s self says a lot for the game, it’s really that good. So flash forward to today where my impressions so far hasn’t been very favorable.

whynolog

Yes, this is the dismay with the game so far! Every since the early access of the game I’ve not been able to get more than 3 hours of being logged onto to the server  (Ultros) where my characters are stored, which puts me behind the curve and also puts me off of the game regardless of how good it is. I’ve contacted Square about this several times and all I’ve been told is that the issue was fixed, clearly which is not the case, especially when I tried to log on again this morning at 8AM EST.

” Thank you for contacting the Square Enix Support Center, We apologize for any inconvenience in this issue. The previous maintenance has resolve this issue for FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn. We’d like to thank you for your patience while this issue was being investigated and resolved.

Thanks
Square Enix Support Center”

Sorry Square but this is still ongoing, I will acknowledge that you have made steps to correct the issue and while I don’t think those steps are the correct way to proceed at least you are trying….right? However until I can log in to the game consistently I’ll refrain from giving my actual impressions of the game. You got two weeks Square cause that’s when World of Warcraft’s Siege of Orgrimmar 5.4 patch drops. Please don’t disappoint and get this fixed otherwise you’ll have lose a potential customer in me and likely many more who are also plagued by this issue.
