What? Mirai Suenaga has her own music video now?

By Keith MitchellJune 14, 2012

Japan-based pop culture blogger and television show host Danny Choo posted a “Sukirai” music video featuring his studio’s mascot Mirai Suenaga on Thursday. Choo directed and produced the 97-second video, while vividblaze composed the song, and UTACO provided Mirai’s voice.

The video uses the same Live2D computer-animated technique that Namco Bandai Games has used in Haruhi Suzumiya, Oreimo, Haganai, and Tokimeki Girl’s Side software to animate 2D characters’ expressions as if they were 3D.

Mirai debuted as an illustration in 2007, and she has since appeared in the Mayo Chiki! and Twin Angel: Twinkle Paradise anime as well as other media. Mirai also features in Moekana, a set of flash cards aimed at individuals who are trying to learn the Japanese hiragana syllabary, which Choo unveiled in March.
