Over the last week, IO Interactive have clearing been ramping up its marketing efforts for 007 First Light, which is releasing for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC on May 27th, 2026, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version coming at a later date.
It started with the reveal that Lana Del Rey was the singer of the official theme song, “First Light”. This was shortly followed by the unveiling of the opening title sequence for 007 First Light. We all know how iconic James Bond opening titles and theme songs have become over the years. While it’s not my favourite song in the plethora of Bond tunes, “First Light” does feel suitably Bond and seems to fit the origin story vibe of this game.
I will admit that the more I listen to the song, the more I like it. However, I’m even more excited to see what The Flight does with their score for 007 First Light, as I was a huge fan of their work on multiple games over the last decade. The main theme they created for Assassin’s Creed Shadows is seared into my brain!
Of course, this theme song reveal wasn’t the only thing that came from IO Interactive and 007 First Light. Just a few days ago, they released a new trailer for 007 First Light titled “Rules of Spycraft”. Honestly, I wasn’t sure that I needed another trailer for this game, but boy, I was wrong. So much was revealed in this latest trailer, including new information about gadgets that will be at your disposal, what you’ll be doing between missions and even some HITMAN-like challenges that will help you unlock new equipment and more.
If you haven’t watched it already, I highly recommend checking it out for yourself:
