Time Magazine Dropping Special Pokemon Anniversary Covers!

It’s very rare that we get to talk about publications like Time Magazine on The Outerhaven. The reason we’re doing it today has to involve Pokemon! The franchise is about to celebrate its next anniversary on the 27th, and the beloved magazine (finally) realized that the franchise crossed 25 years in America as of last August (it came out in Japan in 1996). So, to celebrate the dual anniversaries, they’ve dropped four special covers for their magazine covering the original four starter Pokemon! As you’ll see in the tweet below, you can get covers with Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, or Pikachu! They even mimicked the versions that were used for those original titles.

As a Gen 1 Pokemon fan, I appreciate Time Magazine doing this, and I have to admit, I’m tempted to get them myself. So be on the lookout for wherever you see/get magazines so you can snag one for yourself!

Oh, as we noted on the most recent Nintendo Entertainment Podcast, The Pokemon Company has said whether a “Pokemon Presents” is happening on the 27th. So stay tuned for updates on that!
