The Pokemon Company Fully Unveils Pecharunt

By Todd BlackJanuary 15, 2024
Pecharunt

If you missed the news, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet released its “epilogue quest” for “The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero” the other day, and within it is the chance to get the mythical Pokemon known as Pecharunt. For those who played “The Teal Mask,” you’ll recall that this Pokemon was the one who made the “Loyal Three” and attacked Ogerpon, causing it to lose its masks and its master. Today, The Pokemon Company decided to drop the full backstory of its newest Pokemon, and it’s a bit dark.

After all, Pecharunt uses the Mochi that it creates to literally make chains that bind Pokemon and people to it. That includes the Loyal Three, whom it “tamed” so it could use them to complete its quest to get Ogerpon’s masks, all so that it could be appreciated more by its trainer. Check out the full history of the Pokemon below:

Signboards depicting one of Kitakami’s oldest folktales are scattered throughout the land—yet none of them make mention of Pecharunt.

What could be the true tale of this Mythical Pokémon? #PokemonScarletViolet ❤️💜 pic.twitter.com/7cou6sQdli
