Prince of Persia Dev Is Up For “Strange” Legend Of Zelda Spinoff

It’s hardly uncommon for video developers to desire the ability to make certain games within certain franchises. After all, we all have dreams! And some of those dreams do come true, like when the team behind Prince of Persia The Lost Crown got to make an entry in the franchise the way they wanted to. They worked hard to build up a unique Metroidvania-style title that would be a callback to the original titles while also carving a path to the future. Based on everything we’ve seen so far, they did a good job.

So, what does this have to do with The Legend of Zelda? Well, on Reddit, senior game designer Rémi Boutin was asked about doing a game for a franchise he didn’t have access to currently, and he replied he would love to do a

“Strange spin-off based on Adventure of Link.”

For those confused, that was the second entry in The Legend of Zelda franchise, and was a side-scrolling adventure that is considered one of the “black sheeps” of the series. But, given the places that Link has been over the years, it wouldn’t be that odd to see him mimic Prince of Persia.
