Here are Your Winners and Champions of EVO 2024

By Keith MitchellJuly 22, 2024
Evo 2024 - Street Fighter 6 Winner - Punk da God

Now that the dust has settled from the recent fighting game tournament, EVO 2024, bringing in new faces and defending champions to the forefront. This event was one of the most exciting EVOs I’ve had the pleasure of watching, showcasing the growth and vibrancy of the fighting game scene for both players and spectators.

Here are the winners in bold, their opponents, the games they played, and replays of the final matches:

  • Street Fighter 6: Winner Punk Da God vs. Big Bird
  • Tekken 8: Winner Aslan Ash (5x Winner) vs. Atif Butt
  • Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike: Winner MOV vs. Issei
  • King of Fighters XV: Winner Xiaohai vs. ET
  • Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes Winner Mo.Sin vs. Senaru
  • Mortal Kombat 1: Winner Sonicfox vs. Nicolas
  • Guilty Gear Strive: Winner Nitro vs. Tatuma
  • Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising: Winner Aarondamac vs. Tororo

These were some amazing grand finals, but nothing caused me to pause more than the Street Fighter 6 grand finals featuring Punk and Big Bird. With Big Bird coming out of losers, while Punk was looking unstoppable until the final match, Big Bird reset the bracket and looked posed to take it all. Punk held on with his Cammy, showing some god-like gameplay, and capturing his first EVO win. I’d like to add that Punk is the first person from the USA to win a mainstream Street Fighter game in over 20 years.

Congrats to all the winners, and everyone else who participated! We’ll see you all next year!

The EVO 2025 dates were announced and will take place from August 1-3, 2025, and will take place in the new home for the event, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
