Few shows become overnight sensations like The Boys on Amazon Prime Video. The series is based on the incredibly dark superhero comic by Garth Innis, and people weren’t sure of what to make of it when it debuted. What started as a “parody” of the superhero-filled media world we live in soon became a spotlight on real-world problems and how bad things can get when the wrong people have power. Season 4 is about to debut, and now, series creator Eric Kripke has revealed that the end is truly near.
In a post on Twitter, he revealed that The Boys will end with Season 5. This was apparently “always the plan,” and that the final episodes will be something to behold:

It’s sad to see a show like this end, but there is a spinoff show in Gen V continuing on, and more might follow given the show’s popularity.
