System Shock Remake is Coming to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2

By Richard HeatonOctober 24, 2025

Nightdive Studios announced on Thursday that the System Shock remake released in 2023 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. No exact release date has been given, but the developer has been stated it will be in late 2025. The official trailer can be viewed below.

Both versions will feature gyro aiming and additional features inspired by community feedback. The Switch 2 version will support Joy-Con 2 mouse controls and will have the entire game included on the physical cartridge. According to producer Justin Khan, ensuring that the full game was on a cart for the Switch 2 release was a top priority for them.

We’ve been working hard on these ports! And it was a priority for us to make sure we included the full game on cart for the Switch 2 release — I fought for that personally.

System Shock was originally released in 1994. The 2023 remake was released on Playstation 4/5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, and Windows.
