Every so often, I find myself randomly browsing the internet. Sometimes it is for work, sometimes it is because I am bored, and sometimes it is because I just end up clicking on something that catches my eye. That is exactly what happened when I stumbled across a video of a street paint artist being handed a brand-new Xbox Series X and asked to give it a custom look.
At first, I had no idea what to expect. I mean, who just hands someone an Xbox Series X and says, โgo ahead, paint this thing?โ But once the artist started working, I was locked in. What started as a simple black console slowly turned into something that looked completely different, and honestly, the final result was amazing.
That one video sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole, and that is when I realized this was part of a larger series from the YouTube channel Mr. Spray. The channel is run by Andrew Ghisoni, who travels around finding street paint artists across the globe, giving them random items, paying them, and letting them do what they do best.
What makes these videos so fun to watch is not just the finished product. It is seeing how these artists take something ordinary, whether it is a gaming console, a laptop, or some random everyday object, and turn it into something that feels one of a kind. You never really know where the design is going at first, and that is part of what makes it so easy to keep watching.
Here are a few more worth checking out:
It is some damn good stuff, especially if you enjoy watching creative people take something simple and turn it into something amazing. I did not expect to spend time watching street paint artists customize tech and random objects, but here we are, and now I kind of want to see more of it.
I am honestly tempted now that when I make my trip out to California to cover Summer Game Fest 2026, I might try to seek out one of these street paint artists myself. Maybe I will hand over my laptop and let them give it the full treatment.
