Capcom Unveils Alex Gameplay as He Joins Street Fighter 6

By Kevin KellyJanuary 29, 2026
Street Fighter VI Alex Gameplay

Following Capcom’s official reveal of Alex heading to Street Fighter VI, now the developer has released a new gameplay trailer, that gives us a better look at just how dangerous the returning Street Fighter III character can be. For those who didn’t get a chance to experience during this glory days, he’s a wrestling-type roster addition who has made a few appearances in both Street Fighter and other collaboration titles since his New Generation debut.

Alex is back and has taken a new side, a heel turn so to speak. Doesn’t seem to feel as if Saturday Night Slammasters could be the path Alex will take this round. The “Man with No Allies“, will be entering the ring again.

A young wrestler considered to be the next big thing. He debuted with his
adoptive father Tom as his trainer, but was quickly made a heel due to his perceived
surliness.

Alex comes from the Street Fighter III subseries as the protagonist to potentially end Ryu’s career on the box cover. It seems as though he’s aiming for Luke this time. Canonically, Ryu previously defeated Alex, so it was only fair for Capcom to have him demo his new kit against him. Ryu seems to be taking it well this time.

Alex’s kit seems to be fun thus far. Flying Cross Chop and his anti-air HP jump have returned. The Flash Elbow is also there. Anti-fireball tactics on point. Alex seems to have 10 throws as well as a new stance on top of his set this time. Power Bomb is definitely back, too. Wrestler Kenny Omega has done the motion capturing for Alex.

Alex enters the World Warrior arena on March 17th from the Street Fighter VI Year 3 DLC pack. The full character guide is forthcoming. C. Viper and Sagat were released last year. There will be a heap of changes because of the balance patch to come with him.

The biggest mystery since Capcom Fighting All-stars, err Capcom Fighting Evolution, Ingrid, will be released after Alex to conclude the year. More of his moveset information can be seen on the Steam blog page.

Street Fighter VI is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC (via Steam), and Nintendo Switch 2.
