When the final trailer for Super Mario Galaxy Movie was revealed, several people noticed that a certain character was hidden off-screen, with just his arm showing. That character was Fox McCloud from Star Fox.
While others dismissed it as being a coincidence, Nintendo has confirmed that the character is indeed in the upcoming movie by posting his own poster for the movie over on the official Instagram account for the movie, with the message “Let’s rock and roll! Fox McCloud joins The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, only in theaters April 1. Get tickets now.”
It only makes sense since the movie is happening in space and before Mario and crew blasted for the stars, it was Fox McCloud and crew who was flying ships and taking it to the forces of Andross.
After the events of the first film, Mario and Luigi are pulled into a much bigger adventure that takes them far beyond the Mushroom Kingdom and into deep space. As a new threat begins to rise across the galaxy, they team up with Princess Peach, Toad, and new allies like Yoshi and Rosalina to travel between strange planets and cosmic worlds.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie releases in theaters on April 1st, 2026.
