Folks, I’m SO hyped and Happy right now! I got what I wanted out of the Xbox Games Showcase 2026. It had EVERYTHING! New titles, legacy franchises coming back, Console EXCLUSIVES, Persona 6, and just when I thought they had granted all my wishes. They went and announced Spyro: A Realm Beyond, and it’s coming out in Spring 2027 for all platforms, including the Nintendo Switch 2.
I’m as happy as Spyro flying through the air right now. Switch 2! We got Alpha gameplay captured on PC! In addition, Activision is helping Toys For Bob make this. Also, welcome home, Toys For Bob. We have missed you. For those who may not know or remember, Toys For Bob was originally a part of the Activision-Blizzard acquisition. They were originally delegated to Call of Duty game assistance for a few years, but a few years ago, they gained independence from Activision-Blizzard, though Microsoft allowed them to work on a new project. Now, in 2026, we found out what that project was: Spyro: A Realm Beyond!
Now, if this time next year Activision announces a new Crash game, this’ll be quite the 180 in terms of regaining goodwill. We’ll see. For now, I’m going to go celebrate my Purple Dragon’s GLORIOUS Return! Oh, and if anyone wants to watch the reveal trailer, check it out above. Lastly, this game is also coming to Xbox Game Pass for those wondering. But that is no surprise given that it’s an Xbox first party IP.
Spyro is back and ready to compete with the Big Guys in gaming once again. I can’t wait to see what new adventures we get to go on as my favorite purple dragon.
