Split Fiction’s Newest Trailer Highlights Friend’s Pass

By Scott AdamsFebruary 20, 2025
Split Fiction Key Art

Prior to today, Split Fiction talked about when you bought one copy of the game, you could have a friend join in absolutely free online. Today, EA and Hazelight Studios released a trailer that explained the concept to help understand how you can accomplish that once you buy the game.

Pretty simple, when you buy the game, have your friend download the app Friend’s Pass on the platform they plan to play from. Once that is downloaded you can send an invite to them from within the game and they can accept. Now you and the friend can play together and they didn’t even need to buy the game. Most online games tend to force both parties to own the game. Having an option for your friend to just download a free app is an easier ask to play games with. Trying to get my friends to buy Granblue Fantasy: Relink for instance was always a big ask when they didn’t trust they would like the game or not.

“In Split Fiction, players collaborate as fantasy writer Zoe and sci-fi author Mio, two opposites who must work together to escape a simulation of worlds created from their own written stories. Designed for two, Split Fiction is a true co-op adventure where players can dive into genre-jumping gameplay and build their teamwork skills while journeying through incredible sci-fi and fantasy worlds.” – Press Release

Split Fiction releases March 6th, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
