Spider-Verse Producer Wants To Do Batman Beyond Animated Feature, and Has Epic Art To Back It up!

Batman Beyond

There are certain animated properties that “changed things” for fandoms and just plain animation fans. Look at series like Avatar: The Last Airbender for classic examples, or even more recent times via things like Hazbin Hotel! And, of course, Pixar changed the animated game multiple times over. The point is, when the right team comes around? Magic can happen. For the Spider-Verse animated films, that’s another case of people “pushing the genre” to new heights, and one of them wants to do it again with Batman Beyond.

The original Batman Beyond cartoon helped change the game because of its dark version of Gotham’s future, where Bruce Wayne was no longer the Caped Crusader, and a young Terry McGinnis took up the mantle. It was a great show that many people have wanted to see continue in the animated space. Sure enough, Spider-Verse producer Yuhki Demers teamed up with writer and director Patrick Harpin to discuss with Warner Bros Discovery the possibility of an animated movie set in the city of Neo Gotham. They dropped some epic art to show how the Spider-Verse-style would work here, and the beauty speaks for itself:

The duo admit that at first, WBD noted there wasn’t a good chance this would happen, but they’ve whittled them down a bit! If this were to reach DC Studios head James Gunn, things could change. So if you want to see this version of Batman Beyond come to life, and I definitely do, please share this around!
