During the Future Game Show Spring Showcase 2026, Liquid Swords, the developer of the upcoming action title Samson: A Tyndalston Story, released new gameplay footage. In this new trailer, players are treated to a detailed look at Tyndalston, the gritty 1990s city at the heart of the experience.
I highly recommend checking the trailer below:
In Samson: A Tyndalston Story, players take on the role of Samson McCray, who is forced to return to a city that not only shaped him but still has its hooks in him, as he is compelled to do the bidding of others due to the significant debt he owes.
From a gameplay perspective, the game reminds me of a grittier version of SIFU, where danger lurks around every corner and every encounter is a lesson in pain. However, instead of just punching and kicking everything in sight, players will also take on jobs to earn money, stay alive, and pay back their debt, while the choices they make will influence how the story plays out. There is also some driving, which brings to mind games like Driver and Mad Max.
Earlier this week, Liquid Swords also revealed that the game will launch with full ray tracing and NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution support. This should help elevate the visual fidelity of what is already one of the most striking-looking AA titles of the year.
There is a lot to like about Samson: A Tyndalston Story, that is for sure. The game shows a tremendous amount of promise, and we cannot wait to get some hands-on time with it to see if it can live up to the potential the team has revealed so far.
Samson: A Tyndalston Story releases on April 8th, 2026, for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Wishlists are also live, so head over and check it out.
