Without a doubt, one of Capcom’s biggest releases for next year is Resident Evil Requiem. The title isn’t just an anniversary title to help celebrate how far the series has come, but it’s been stated by the dev team to be a kind of “epilogue” on everything that’s happened in Raccoon City throughout the story. The game will focus on one Grace Ashcroft, but other characters from the series have been stated to return…we just didn’t know who would show up next. Today, as noted by IGN, certain PlayStation owners found themselves looking at an image that absolutely revealed a classic character coming back.
Specifically, those who have already bought the game on PS5 had a new image greeting them on the pre-download screen, and the image…looked like this…

That’s right! Resident Evil Requiem is bringing back Leon S. Kennedy! And by the looks of him, he’s seen better days. IGN was able to confirm this image was real, and thus, Leon really is back. The question now becomes, “What role does he play in the game?”
To be clear, he’s NOT the protagonist, and the Capcom team even spelled out why in a special video on the game. However, it is fair to think that he might aid Grace in her journey to survive what’s happening in Raccoon City. After all, he’s already survived the place in the past.
Hopefully, a new trailer for the game will drop soon to show Leon in action.
