Remedy’s FBC: Firebreak Release Date Announced

During a special livestream today, Remedy Entertainment announced that FBC: Firebreak, the upcoming three-player cooperative first-person shooter set in the mysterious world of Control, will launch worldwide on June 17, 2025.

I am simultaneously excited and apprehensive about FBC: Firebreak. Firstly, I’ve really enjoyed every Remedy game since the original Max Payne, and their latest release, Alan Wake II, is a game I still think about every day. Remedy knows storytelling and narrative design, having used a unique blend of various forms of entertainment to make their connected universe thrive so far. However, FBC: Firebreak sees the studio tackle a type of game they haven’t attempted before—multiplayer, which makes me nervous.

That being said, what we’ve seen of the game so far looks like it has the quirky fun that Remedy is known for.

Just take a look at the latest trailer below:

FBC: Firebreak introduces Requisitions—a system that rewards players with new gear and cosmetics simply by playing the game. Requisitions can include weapons, equipment, armour, sprays, and more—all unlockable using in-game currency earned through gameplay. There are no limited-time windows or rotating stores; if an item is added to the game, it’s always available.

For those who want additional customisation options, Classified Requisitions offer premium cosmetic items—such as armour sets, custom voice packs, sprays, and weapon skins. Classified Requisitions are purchased with real money. These items are purely cosmetic, have no gameplay impact, and will remain available permanently. Read more about how Requisitions work here.

In a previous live stream, Remedy confirmed plans for ongoing support post-launch, including two new Jobs (missions) arriving in 2025. More updates will follow in 2026. All playable content released post-launch, such as Jobs, will be free for all players.

Remedy also revealed the FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition, which will be available for purchase at launch for $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99. The FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition includes a collection of exclusive cosmetics and premium voice packs for players looking to personalise their gear and squad identity.

The FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition includes:

  • “The Firestarter” Premium Voice Pack
  • “The Pencil Pusher” Premium Voice Pack
  • Firestarter Armor Set, Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves)
  • Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin
  • Golden Firebreak Spray
  • Classified Requisition: “Firestarter”: A collection of 36 unlockable cosmetic items, including weapon skins, sprays, and armor sets

Base game owners will be able to upgrade to Deluxe Edition for $10.00 / €10.00 / £7.00.

FBC: Firebreak is Remedy Entertainment’s first self-published game and will be available on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 for $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99. FBC: Firebreak will also be available day one via PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and PlayStation Plus Game Catalog (Extra and Premium).

Jordan has been playing games since the age of six. This ignited a passion which initially led him towards game development before trying his hand in the realm of games media, starting in 2022. It turns out he's quite good at it, even if he doesn't always believe in himself. Now, just a few short years later, not only is Jordan a valued member of our staff here at The Outerhaven, but he also co-owns and helps to run Analog Stick Gaming.
