One of the early surprises at The Game Awards last night was that the upcoming Capcom title, Pragmata, would drop on the Nintendo Switch 2 alongside the other consoles and PC when it arrives on April 23rd. Furthermore, one of the main characters, Diana, will have an Amiibo available for the Nintendo system. Naturally, with its announcement, many are wondering how well the game will run on the Switch 2. Thankfully, the answer is rather easy to find, as Producer Naoto Oyama and Director Cho Yong – hee, called “Zhao” in the interview, talked about bringing the game to the system, and they praised it quite a lot:
Oyama: “I think it’s reaching a level that stands shoulder to shoulder with Resident Evil: Requiem.
Zhao: “When we first got it running on Switch 2, even the development team was surprised, saying, ‘Wow, it actually runs at this level of quality!’ The reaction was very positive.”
Another team member stated that the RE Engine runs well on the Nintendo Switch 2, and as such, the game’s progress is going smoothly.
Now, that being said, not everything on the Switch 2 will work with Pragmata. The team noted that mouse controls won’t work in the game, so you’ll have to use the standard controls.
As for the Diana Amiibo…
Its functionality is all about supporting the player:
“When you load the game, you can get weapons, recovery items, and hacking nodes that have unique effects in hacking. Items that can be obtained in the stage will drop, making it a little easier to progress.”
Currently, the game has a demo available on Steam. One will come to the Switch 2 and the other consoles later on.
