During The Game Awards 2025, KOEI TECMO America and Team NINJA officially announced that a new demo for Nioh 3 will be released on January 29, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
The demo arrives just ahead of the game’s full launch on February 6, 2026, giving players a chance to check out the next chapter of Team NINJA’s dark samurai action RPG.
The demo will be playable both solo and online with up to three players, allowing fans to jump into cooperative play and start mastering the game’s brutal combat systems early. Progress made during the demo will carry over into the full game, letting players continue their journey without starting over. Team NINJA says more details about the demo content will be shared closer to release.
Nioh 3 builds on the foundation of its predecessors, continuing Team NINJA’s signature blend of fast, technical combat, deep RPG systems, and mythological storytelling rooted in Japanese history and folklore. Players once again face off against deadly yokai, master multiple weapon types, and fine-tune their builds through extensive gear customization. This time, the narrative focuses on the story of the new protagonist named Tokugawa Takechiyo, the grandson of Tokugawa Ieyasu, as he battles yokai and navigates supernatural events tied to his rise to shogun
With a confirmed demo, returning fan-favorite armor, and a full release just weeks later, Nioh 3 is shaping up to be one of Team NINJA’s most ambitious action RPGs yet. Fans eager to test their skills won’t have to wait long to step back into the world of yokai and steel.
