Nvidia Officially Announces The RTX 2060, Cheaper Than The GTX 1070 Ti And More Powerful The GTX 1060

During Nvidia’s 2019 CES conference, the company officially let the cat out of the bag – the RTX 2060. The replacement for the GTX 1070 Ti, the RTX 2060 will be priced at $350 USD and will be more powerful. And the card is being released sooner than you’d think, this January 15, 2019.

According to Nvidia, the RTX 2060 will be 60% faster than the GTX 1060, however, there was no mention of the difference between it and the GTX 1070 Ti. Thanks to the 6GB of GDDR6, Turning RT and Tensor Cores, the card will be able to run Battlefield V with Ray Tracing enabled at 60FPS. No mention of the resolution, but one can only assume that this is at 1080p. It will also support DLSS / Deep Learning Super Sampling.

As an added bonus, Anthem and Battlefield V will come bundled with certain RTX 2060 video cards.

With this, Nvidia now has two mid-range RTX cards; RTX 2060 at $350 and the RTX 2070 at $499-$599. This might be enough to convince those who were holding on to their GTX 960/970 & 1060/1070’s to finally upgrade their cards. That is if retailers don’t jack the price of the card up, which many have done with the RTX 2080/2080 Ti cards. Even then, this is still going to be dependant on how much the framerate gap is.

We’ll be picking up an RTX 2060 and will be pitting it against the GTX 1060 as soon as we get our hands on the card.
