Nintendo Switch Reaches 152 Million Units Sold

The last meaningful update before the successor arrives...

Nintendo Switch Console Sales Soar Past 146 Million Units

It’s honestly been a pleasure writing about the Nintendo Switch for over 8 years. I was here at The Outerhaven during the Wii U era and got to see the OG Switch come into the gaming world, shock everyone, and then dominate for years to come. Now, we’re just four weeks away from the arrival of its successor, and many are hyped. However, that doesn’t mean the OG system doesn’t have a few feats left to talk about, and that’s where the latest financial data report from The Big N comes in.

As you can see below, the Nintendo Switch has officially surpassed 152 million units sold. That’s really cool. Sure, it’s not the biggest jump in the world, but that’s not the point. The point is that it’s still selling, and the slow plodding of recent sales is because people REALLY want the Switch 2. Even with that, certain games are still selling well, including million-sellers that happened this year, like with DKC Returns HD.

[Switch 1]The original Switch has reached 152.12 million units sold.Sales for recent games:* Super Mario Party Jamboree: 7.48 mil* Paper Mario TTYD: 2.10 mil* Mario & Luigi Brothership: 1.97 mil* Donkey Kong Country Returns HD: 1.27 mil* Luigi's Mansion 2 HD: 1.88 mil

The next fiscal quarter is April-June, and so you can expect that to be more about the Switch 2 sales in its first month than about the OG one.
