Monolith Soft Teases “Working Hard” On Next Game!

Please tells us more soon!
By Todd BlackApril 18, 2025
Monolith Soft, Nintendo

While we wait for the Nintendo Switch 2 to release, one thing that many will continue to do is speculate on what games will come out in the first year or two for the new system. One thing that many predict is that many of the “big names” will drop to help give credibility to the new system and welcome fans into the “new age.” So far, we’ve gotten confirmation of Mario, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, Legend of Zelda (via a new Warriors-style title), and Kirby. However, one developer that many want to hear from soon is Monolith Soft.

They’re the team behind the incredible Xenoblade Chronicles saga, which had four entries on the Nintendo Switch between original titles and remastered versions of past ones. All four were incredibly well-received and sold well, and that leaves fans hungry for more info on what the team is cooking up next. To that end, a special tweet by them was spotted, and it’s clear they’re “working hard” on some new stuff:

Monolith Soft celebrated Invention Day by saying:"We're all working hard today to invent new games!"We don't know what Switch 2's limits are yet, but when Monolith Soft reveals their in development RPG, we might find out.

While this isn’t confirmation that Monolith Soft is working on Xenoblade Chronicles 4 or a new franchise, the fact that the post said the team was working on “new games” does imply multiple projects in the works. To that end, as we noted on the newest episode of the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast, if what they make next is another big hit, the team and its franchise could be considered among the “pillars” of Nintendo going forward.
