Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Peni Parker, and Star Guy… err Star-Lord will be a new team in Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls title dubbed as The Amazing Guardians.
Revealed at the Arc World Tour by Arc System Works is the team that Spider-Man is leading. Star-Lord, Spider-Man, and Ms Marvel, were already shown previously, and in the betas. The armored spider girl, Peni, is the brand new member. It’s surprising to see a team with Star-Lord in it that doesn’t have him as a leader.
Peni has a bunch of traps and summons such as exploding balls, turrets, and drone trucks. Arc System Works is never really afraid to throw items around during a fight, so this could possibly be her. Peni’s mech is huge, which places her into a bigger category than most the roster thus far, too.
The middle of Knowhere
Knowhere was also revealed as a new stage. Some details such as the severed head and Nova Corps shield tech is also present. The stage is a part of the Guardians of the Galaxy mythos and is a frequent location of the comic and movies recently.
Who’s Running the Contest?
The herald or messenger who is assembling the fighters has also been shown to pose a threat to Earth if they lose the tournament. No name has been mentioned in the trailer, but she seems to be very excited to bring the heroes together.
This could be similar to Galactica from the Marvel Rivals plot. Some speculate that this is the Promoter – a character within the Marvel lore that is a hype-woman to the Champion. The Champion might be that final boss that we’re hoping to see.
New mechanics were also discussed such as the Assemble Attack. The Assemble Attack can only happen when all characters are unlocked and if the team might lose the round. Also, it costs 150 meter to perform the Assemble Attack.
The roster continues to grow for Tokon. Surprisingly, Magneto and Scarlet Witch have yet to be seen despite a leak happening this month.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls launches on August 6, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC.
