HoYoverse is giving players another chance to check out Honkai: Nexus Anima, as the upcoming entry in the Honkai series is getting another closed beta test. This new round of testing, called the “Evolution Test,” will begin on July 9, 2026, for PC, Android, and iOS.
As expected with this sort of test, this will be a closed beta with a data wipe, so any progress made during the test won’t carry over to the final release. Still, for anyone who has been waiting to see more of what HoYoverse is doing with this game, this is going to be one of the better chances to get a feel for it.
According to HoYoverse, this new test follows nearly a year of refinement and optimization for Honkai: Nexus Anima. The Evolution Test will also show more of the game’s story and core gameplay, while adding new characters, creatures, regions, and gameplay features.
For those who haven’t been keeping up with it, Honkai: Nexus Anima is the latest entry in the Honkai series, though it isn’t trying to be another Honkai Impact 3rd or Honkai: Star Rail. Instead, this one leans more into creature-collecting adventure strategy, with players bonding with creatures known as Anima.
That alone makes it one of HoYoverse’s more interesting projects, especially since the studio already has several massive games under its belt with Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero. Whether Honkai: Nexus Anima can stand alongside those games remains to be seen, but this next test should give players a much better idea of what HoYoverse is aiming for.
There’s still no release date for Honkai: Nexus Anima, but the Evolution Test begins on July 9, 2026, for PC, Android, and iOS.
