After months of speculation, Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have finally announced the official pricing for Grand Theft Auto VI. So, yeah, we can stop with all the rumors now.
According to the companies, there will be two versions of the game at launch. The Standard Edition will be priced at $79.99, while the Ultimate Edition will cost $99.99 and include various in-game bonuses. And no, before anyone starts yelling, that does not make Grand Theft Auto VI a $100 game. The standard version is $80, while the $100 version is the premium edition.
In addition to revealing the price, it was also made known that boxed copies of Grand Theft Auto VI will not include a disc. Instead, those physical copies will include a download code. Meaning that once players get access to the game, they will be scrambling to download it, along with millions of other people trying to do the same thing. Something tells me the PlayStation and Xbox distribution servers are going to be working some serious overtime when Grand Theft Auto VI finally drops.
Ironically enough, there was a big uproar when other companies released boxed editions of games that did not include a disc inside the box. I wonder if people will voice those same frustrations with Grand Theft Auto VI, or if they will be too busy trying to play the game to care.
New screenshots were also released, which you can see below. To say they are stunning would be an understatement. Damn, these are looking good.
Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will begin on June 25, 2026, which happens to be tomorrow. Still, I am a bit confused. If this is basically a digital game, it is not going to sell out, so why are we doing pre-orders like there is a limited supply? There also does not appear to be a Collector’s Edition, either. Then again, this is Grand Theft Auto VI, so I already know people will be throwing money at the screen like it is the end of the world.
As for Grand Theft Auto VI, this is going to be the biggest thing since sliced bread. This is a game that has seemingly forced publishers to rethink the November release window, and we have already seen several major games move away from 2026. When the game finally drops, I can only hope that Grand Theft Auto VI lives up to the hype (I’m sure it will).
Remember, Grand Theft Auto VI drops on November 19, 2026, and only for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. You did manage to get your PTO in for work, right?
