Fire Emblem Heroes Already Downloaded 2 Million Times

By Todd BlackFebruary 3, 2017
Fire Emblem Heroes

Let’s be clear here, for a long time, Fire Emblem was NOT a main Nintendo franchise. It just wasn’t. It was mainly a big franchise in Japan, which is why many of the FE franchise titles have never crossed over to the US. However, because of games like Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn, Awakening, and the Fates trilogy, fans from all over have flocked to the series, and Nintendo noticed that, thus why they made Fire Emblem Heroes as part of their mobile initiative.

However, just because a series is popular, doesn’t mean the fans will flock to the mobile market to pick up a title. HOWEVER, if the first day of Fire Emblem Heroes is any indication, Nintendo is going to be fine.

Because Nintendo Wire has posted on their Twitter that the game has already been downloaded over 2 million times in the first day, AND, has already gotten revenue of close to $3 million dollars…ON. ITS. FIRST. DAY!

Fire Emblem Heroes

Let’s put that in context shall we? The way microtransactions work in Fire Emblem Heroes is that you can buy things to either summon heroes, upgrade your heroes, replenish stamina (so you can keep playing), and other little things like that. Most likely? People have been buying orbs to summon Fire Emblem characters.

Another thing that needs to be said, the game was sporadically released yesterday, with various countries getting it before other. The US was actually one of the last countries to get it. So now that it’s out in full? These are surely going to shoot up.

We did a small “first impressions” of Fire Emblem Heroes on the most recent Nintendo Entertainment Podcast! Check it out, and wait for next weeks episode where we go even more in depth about what the game has done, and what it’s like as a whole!
