SNK waited for the near end of CEO 2025 to show their first Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves DLC Character – Andy Bogard. The second protagonist, from the original Fatal Fury / Garou Dentsetsu series, has returned to Southtown and will be available as part of the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Season 1 DLC that is being released on June 24, 2025. As to what motivates him to do so could be similar to Mai’s reasoning – Shiranui Ryuu Clan business. Or just to check up on how his former pupil has been doing. Then again, we do have SNK to provide a bit of that info:
Human weapon. Master of Shiranui-style melee combat (taijutsu). This legendary South Town shinobi currently works with Mai in her clan’s village, where he helps train its youth. Now that his pupil Hokutomaru has come into his own, Andy longs for the day when the two can square up in a real bout—not only as master and apprentice, but also man-to-man. At the same time, he knows that a separate battle yet remains: A contest he has always yearned for. A man he was born to fight.
From the way of it, Andy might be facing off against a certain rival who’s been there since the beginning of the series itself. Personally, I’d figure that kin Terry Bogard would not be so much of a challenge for an actual ninja who knows literally every move Terry has, but here we are.
Terry has been VERY busy within the realm of his experiences, though. Will Andy’s ninja tricks be enough to end sibling rivalry once and for all? Apparently, not even Mai Shiranui’s charms don’t work on him anymore, according to the Hungry Wolf’s win quotes.
Gameplay videos of Andy Bogard in action have been circulating on the official SNK channel as well as other content creators’ channels since his demo playthrough at Evo Japan 2025.
Andy seems to get a bit of a Demon Flip-esque move out of the Genei Shiranui aerial attack. It can even allow a command move to act as a crossup on either a high or low-based input. It also has a command grab, too. His Yami Abise Geri kick, from Real Bout, is also in his new kit. His Shoryuu Dan uppercut move seems to have a follow-up that causes an OTG bounce for dangerous combos.
His Redline Gear Chou Reppa Dan seems to have him engulfed in purple flames instead of red or orange, which could be hinting at a potential evil character within the midst. An interesting tidbit to see here. Next to the new haircut and duds that are screaming King of Fighters now.
Andy will be joining the King of Fighters Maximum Mayhem tournament on June 24, 2025. Street Fighter‘s Ken Masters is also due out this summer, too. No word on his appearance at the time of this writing.
