Falcom CEO Notes Nintendo Switch 2 Will Be Main Nintendo Destination From Now On

And we got teases of other remakes, too...

With the Nintendo Switch 2 being the hottest thing on the market right now, it was pretty inevitable that numerous 3rd party publishers would want to put as many of their titles on the system as possible. We’ve already seen some big titles from CD Projekt Red, Capcom, Square Enix, and more be announced for the system or are already on it, and that includes the team at Falcom, who put Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter (which my NEP cohost really loved) on both the Switch and Switch 2.

In a special interview, Falcom CEO Toshihiro Kondo commented on the future ports and remakes that the Nintendo platform will get, and he made it clear that, going forward, the Switch 2 is their focus with that line:

“We’ll be working on the Nintendo Switch 2 properly from now on. Regardless of whether we release it simultaneously or not, we want to continue with the platforms we’re currently working on. The release date may change depending on the platform due to factors such as the number of people who can play, but ultimately we want to stick with the current platform.”

That’s good to know, and it makes sense they’d go this path. Speaking of paths, apparently, the future of the remakes is a bit up in the air, as Kondo noted:

“There are differing opinions among us as to whether to go with “The 3rd” or “Trails of Zero.” Some people think “Zero” is better than “The 3rd.”

We’ll keep you posted on what happens next. However, we do know that Trails In The Sky 2nd Chapter will be released next year!
