Evo has made it clear that they’re doing things big time on a different scale than ever before going forward. Thanks to Saudi Arabian government funding, the major has been going full steam ahead on producing more country majors across the globe and throughout the year including the Multi-Game Championship.
However, this post is about their new initiative specifically for the little guys. Not even a whole week has gone by since Evo Las Vegas 2026 and the organization is already giving out more goods than what we already seen from the likes of Capcom, SNK, Arc System Works, and Skybound Games. 2027 will be stacked as it is from the brand.

Evo will be stepping in to support local tournaments with $1 Million in a project called Evo Locals. This will be designed to help the smaller communities grow. Evo had this to say on their site about the project. From what’s outlined, it feels as though there is hope to keep things running for the unsung heroes of the FGC events. For those who figure out logistics to keep a scene going within the confines of a bar or hotel event hall while hauling whatever flatscreens they could find with the right game editions they could source. Some of these brave souls are more Superman and Clark Kent with their lives when it comes to the scene, juggling their normal lives next to that of scene’s demands. Evo seems to know the struggle.
If you’re a TO who needs more setups, financial support for venue fees, production, staffing, graphic designers, trailer makers, social media best practices, introductions to commentators, or pretty much anything needed to run your event, we want to support you. We have a Million dollars available to help organizers around the globe level up their events, start something new for their communities, or get the funds needed to keep a healthy local going for another year.

We want to hear from as many TOs as possible so we can be ready to collaborate when this goes live.
Evo will also be creating a directory for locals, also, to help communities be seen. TOs and organizers are encouraged to submit their community information to them inorder to be accounted for. Evo had also created a new discord list to help find official channels for connection and a taste of what this would look like.
Sites such as Dashfight have taken their stance on what this could possibly mean in terms of the affiliation to Saudia Arabia and the reputation it has on a global scale outside of fighting games or esports. Certain Game Pro Tour circuits have been attached to events, and Evo seems to helping with that. The Tekken World Tour 2026 finals has been posed to take place at Evo Singapore next year, for starters.
