Sega announced that they will be having a Virtua Fighter Direct Spring 2025 update tomorrow. Sega doing this, in the midst of Evo Japan 2025, can mean that this could be a showstopper.

While the tweet mentions new developments in the Virtua Fighter series, this could point to more Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. updates. An Xbox Series X|S port, perhaps? This could even touch on the New Virtua Fighter Project revealed last December. Not much has been heard or seen since Akira and “Not Sarah” scrapped at The Game Awards. Or even the Akira vs Akira demo that Nvidia showed in which Jackie Chan’s Dragons Forever inspired. Or.. Fighters Megamix comes back.
One could even speculate that there is news that Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. Open Championship could be getting actual dates and qualifiers.
