Elden Ring Nightreign Unveils A Trailer for the Revenant

By Andrew AgressMay 29, 2025
Elden Ring Nightreign Revenant

At long last, FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have revealed a trailer for the Revenant. This eighth and final Elden Ring Nightreign Nightfarer works a bit differently from the others. While she does wield claws, her primary mode of combat comes from summoning spirits.

People wondered if Spirit Ashes may make an appearance in Elden Ring Nightreign. While they technically won’t appear, the Revenant looks like Nightreign’s answer to them. The Revenant can summon one of three spirits to aid her at any time.

And if that’s not enough ghosts for you, the Revenant can also occasionally turn defeated enemies into spirits. Lastly, as shown in the end of the trailer, her other skill allows her to automatically revive allies who are near-death.

Naturally, the Revenant should appeal strongly to those players eager for Spirit Summons. But she also works great in a support role. The revival ability in particular could be a game-changer, especially with two allies playing as tanks.

The Revenant has arguably been the most-anticipated character, as she’s the one we’ve known the least about. With her reveal, this rounds out the list of the eight playable characters in Elden Ring Nightreign:

  • Duchess (melee)
  • Recluse (ranged)
  • Guardian (melee)
  • Wylder  (melee)
  • Iron Eye (ranged)
  • Raider (melee)
  • Executor (melee)
  • Revenant (summons)

FromSoftware had been tight-lipped about the Revenant and the Executor, but now we’ve seen them both in action. Of course, the full list has a lot of great Nightfarer options. There’s something for every souls-like fan here, with a healthy mix of melee and ranged fighters. Since Elden Ring Nightreign is a multiplayer game, you’ll want to find a nice balance. So, with the ghostly Revenant added, who ya gonna call?

Elden Ring Nightreign launches on May 30 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
