Elden Ring Nightreign Unsheathes a New Trailer Showcasing the Executor

By Andrew AgressMay 25, 2025
Elden Ring Nightreign Executor

FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have revealed a trailer for one of the last few Nightfarers in Elden Ring Nightreign: the Executor. This katana-wielder is made for close-quarters combat, dealing heavy damage with his swift sword strikes.

But the Executor has a few more tricks up his sleave. For one, he can parry attacks with his cursed sword ability. A successful parry then opens enemies up to a powerful repost. Fans of FromSoftware’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice should feel right at home with this Nightfarer.

And by the way, he can also transform into a beast. Yes, you heard that right. The Executor can go full Vincent Valentine and become a gargantuan-sized beast. Cue the Kaiju battles as Ken Watanabe watches from a distance and says “Let them fight.”

This likely solidifies Elden Ring Nightreign as a kind of “greatest hits” of FromSoftware games. Previously we saw how the Duchess gives players a Bloodborne-inspired build. And now with the Executor we’re bringing Sekiro into the fold.

The Executor has been a much-anticipated character, as he did not appear in the Network Test. He will be one of the eight playable characters in Elden Ring Nightreign:

  • Duchess (melee)
  • Recluse (ranged)
  • Guardian (melee)
  • Wylder  (melee)
  • Iron Eye (ranged)
  • Raider (melee)
  • Executor (melee)
  • Revenant (summons)

FromSoftware had been pretty tight-lipped about the Executor, so this trailer in particular should excite fans of the upcoming rogue-like role-playing game. But you may notice that we still have one more character to hear about. We’ve heard the least about the Revenant, but we at least know that she uses a version of Spirit Ashes to bring ghostly fighters to the field. We should hear more about this Nightfarer in the next couple of days.

Elden Ring Nightreign launches on May 30 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
