This is the end of an era. DRAGON BALL Xenoverse 2 came out almost 10 years ago. It is finally getting the final content update. I remember joking with my friends that Xenoverse 3 would never come out because Xenoverse 2 would keep getting updates as long as it was sold. The day is almost here for DRAGON BALL Xenoverse 2’s end.
The real surprise twist to this trailer is supervillain Supreme Kai of Time. She has been the one in our backseat since the beginning of the game, helping us take down every threat to time. Now she becomes a threat to time. Sounds like her reasoning is to protect all life, which goes against the edict of preserving time.
There has been speculation in the community that this final DLC will erase the time patrol altogether. It definitely seems to be heading in a way that will forever impact the hub as well as your character. Some of the trailer does a bunch of flashbacks to earlier moments in the game. If we defeat and destroy the supervillain Supreme Kai of Time, how will that affect the Time Patrol and Conton City? This is going to prove to be a wild ride.
DRAGON BALL Xenoverse 2’s DLC has made Fu go from being the main character of being an ally to being an enemy, to being an ally again. Now we see him as an ultimate force of destruction. We will get a new supervillain form for Fu to use in the game, too. Alongside that, we will get a new Superhero Ultra Instinct Goku to play as.
It is crazy to see the end happen. However, they are ending this game to shift their focus onto DRAGON BALL Xenoverse 3. It isn’t goodbye to everything. Just to Xenoverse 2. I was super sad to see my first DRAGON BALL Xenoverse character not be playable in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, even if he still played a role in the game. I do wonder if I will still get that same feeling for my DRAGON BALL Xenoverse 2 character, moving on to DRAGON BALL Xenoverse 3.
DRAGON BALL Xenoverse 2 is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, XBOX One, XBOX Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
