Cristiano Ronaldo Strikes In Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

By Kevin KellyMarch 26, 2025
Fatal Fury City of the Wolves

Just when you thought that Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves couldn’t get any wackier. SNK stepped up their game and added Soccer Legend Cristiano Ronaldo to the game. Looks like we’ve got Rival Schools and King of Fighters in our Fatal Fury game. Lucky Gaulber be damned. This is definitely something straight out of Shaq-Fu.

Teased earlier last year, the question of why Ronaldo was working with SNK has been answered. As to his actual story for appearing in Southtown for this tournament is still unknown. Maybe fellow countryman Marco can help us answer this one. Or get an autograph after an ass-whupping – his choice.

Ronaldo’s football glows two colors and his moves are straight from the game he’s famous for. The ball is used for keepaway action and a possible projectile. Whether it can negate projectiles remains to be seen. Slide tackles are here. And from what’s being shown, Ronaldo might have a stance that allows him to change his directions. He seems to be packing mostly kick attacks when the ball isn’t on him. He can break his reverse somersault kick. His Supers mostly have the ball make an appearance for the ultimate goals. Perhaps the red ball represents Rev powered moves. No Zinedine Zidane headbutt techniques were used in Ronaldo’s kit as of yet in the gameplay trailer.

My Hero Academia’s Juan Felipe Sierra will be voicing the character, unfortunately. Hopefully, this collaboration will go the distance to possibly a King of Fighters title with Ronaldo joining an actual team. Fatal Fury characters are in the King of Fighters mythos, so Ronaldo might be fair game to throw into a team.

I’m hoping for KoF14 Team Brazil, with boxer Nelson getting the boot. Ronaldo has shortened the roster mysteries down to possibly two more character reveals before the launch. With nearly a month left, there’s still room to show the world which boss will be making the rounds in Southtown.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be available on April 24th for PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The 2nd Open Beta begins on March 26 late night.
