It's okay if you watched this after the World Series. We get it.

AEW Collision Recap

Hey everyone! Todd here. Jen is out for the night, so I decided to jump in and help keep things rolling! All Elite Wrestling may have had a taped Collision tonight, but my AEW Collision Recap will highlight why this was indeed a night to remember!

🕯️ TONIGHT! 🕯️Celebrate Día de los Muertos with some AEW lucha!Fright Night #AEWCollision KICKS OFF at 8/7c on TNT + HBO Max, TONIGHT!

— All Elite Wrestling (@allelitewrestling.com) 2025-11-01T13:30:12.176Z

Yeah, that’s a loaded card, and it all started off with…

The most…”Married Couples Fighting” tag team match of all time!!! Okay, maybe I can’t back that up, but it felt like it!!!

This was a tag team match made in “Sicko” heaven because these are basically the same storylines heading to two very different conclusions, and honestly, you could’ve made the case for either side losing to further their storylines in interesting directions.

They made it work, too, as both sides had ebbs and flows, miscommunications, staredowns, and interferences on their partners, and it made you wonder just how far it would go before someone would implode. I very much enjoyed this match, and Takeshita getting the win and trying to get Okada to raise his hand was hilarious. We, the fans, expect them to clash at World’s End in the Continental Classic Finals…and I can’t wait.

Afterward, we got a tease of what’s to come on Dynamite next week, as the “Babes of Wrath” are gearing up (in matching outfits!) to face Mercedes Mone and Athena. It’s clear that the end of this tournament will happen at World’s End, and that’s fine. Let it build up, and have each match be special. That one will cook.

The Babes of Wrath, @WillowWrestles + @HarleyCameron_, send a message to their opponents @MercedesVarnado + @AthenaPalmer_FG ahead of their Quarterfinal match in the AEW Women's World Tag Team Title Tournament, THIS WEDNESDAY!

Oh, look! And we got a teaser for the “Timeless Love Bombs,” too! Things are heating up in the women’s tag division!

"Timeless" Toni Storm + @MinaShirakawa come together as the Timeless Love Bombs to enter the AEW Women's World Tag Team Title Tournament!

And, to add to the women’s theme, the next match was…

This one was going to be interesting, as Olympia only had a squash match on Collision last week, and I wasn’t sure how long this match with Mone would go, or how well Olympia would come off.

I’m sorry for doubting TK and his partnership with CMLL!!! Not only did Olympia come off incredibly well, but she showed off her strength and acrobatics in various ways that both the crowd, the internet, and I loved. Such as this:

The strength and athleticism of Olympia is amazing!

For me, one of the biggest ways to show that “AEW is invested in women’s wrestling” is by watching the clock. If they go cleanly over 10 minutes? That’s a great thing. Sure enough? This one did, and Mone can now add yet another quality match to her ever-growing list. I can’t wait for her versus Statlander 3 at Full Gear in a few weeks!

Backstage, the Young Bucks (being interviewed after their loss on Dynamite) were “uplifted” by Don Callis, who revealed a new Full Gear match that involved them. It also involved…a million dollars. Yes. Really. TK is going full-tilt this time by having a million-dollar trios match featuring the Young Bucks and Josh Alexander, versus the Jurassic Express…and Kenny Omega!!! Oh yeah, they might just be slow-burning the Bucks’ redemption and The Elites’ return…and Full Gear might play a huge catalyst in that.

The women had a clear spotlight on them tonight, and that continued with the second part in the back-to-back women’s matches, with Megan Bayne and Marina Shafir going up against Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize. Newell has been on the indies for a while since her release from The Fed, and I’m not sure if she’ll be with AEW full-time, but if she’s here with Alize to help build up the women’s tag division? I’m all for it.

And yeah, we all kind of knew that this would be a squash, especially with Mox on commentary and Marina showing her own version of the Death Riders’ “Aura Farming” entrance (seriously, how do they always make it work?), but it was a nice squash that highlighted how dominant these two can be together. Plus, Mox has been one of the biggest cheerleaders for Marina in AEW, and it’s nice to see that continue on commentary.

And it’s a good thing that they’re “getting on the same page, because another key moment in this AEW Collision Recap to note is that the women’s Blood & Guts wasn’t just confirmed…it was spotlighted epically in this video:

12 Women. 2 All Star Teams. 3 Words.

Here are your teams for the FIRST EVER Women's BLOOD AND GUTS!

That’s right! Multiple rivalries are coming together for the FIRST-EVER 6-on-6 Blood & Guts match (and yes, the men’s match is 5v5, in case you didn’t see the graphic).

I love this for various reasons. First, the Penelope Ford move clearly hurt things, and yet, this set of teams just makes it all feel bigger. It’s both main champs, plus the other key rivalries that have been keeping this division strong for the last several months, with a nice mix of the “top stars” and the “rising stars” to show there are no favorites being played here…just the women’s division being given the opportunity once again to shine.

Long live Blood & Guts.

Alright, after that was a nice 6-man tag featuring The Conglomeration (with Komander filling in for Hologram) versus LFI. I’ll admit, I actually thought the Conglomeration would lose to help set things up further for the men’s Blood & Guts, but that didn’t happen. I’m not sure how to feel about that, honestly, as LFI has been built up as a “big deal” in Ring of Honor, and so if they won, it would’ve made them even more hated, especially if the Death Riders were the reason for the win.

Even still, it was a fun match with various styles, and Mortos wore pink, which was cool.

Yeah, they did this again, and I think it’s funny because they’re building up the MxM Collection in its entirety while also allowing the roster to get more matches in. This time around, it was the Bang Bang Gang getting the win after another impressive display of moves by Ace Austin…oh, and Juice and Colten.

They even modified their entrance for Austin so he could show off his skills…and his quads.

Finally, and most epically, there was the rematch from Arena Mexico: Bandido versus Mascara Dorada. While I may have made a list of matches once upon a time to help people “catch up” on AEW before All In Texas, what we saw tonight with Bandido and Dorada is what I would point to for people to understand what All Elite Wrestling truly is.

What do I mean by that? This match was a 20-plus-minute spectacle that showed off Lucha Libre in all its many ways and forms, and everyone loved it. It even got the vaunted “Fight Forever” chant, and I totally agree with it. These two have mad chemistry, and the rematch lived up to the hype.

Could they have done this on an ROH PPV? Sure. Could they have done this on an AEW PPV? Absolutely! But the fact that they put a bonafide “Match of the Year” contender on free TV, on the same night as Game 7 of the World Series (which also lived up to the hype) showed that Tony Khan wanted a big match to showcase once again that AEW is “Where The Best Wrestle,” and that these kinds of matches can happen on any night in the company, regardless of the show.

Bravo, Bandido and Dorada. You are true representations of Lucha Libre. Oh, and Bandido is totally a “Wrestler of the Year” contender, if not a frontrunner.

And that’s the end of my AEW Collision Recap! I hope you enjoyed my spin on things and enjoyed Collision as much as I did! Things are building fast toward Full Gear, with Blood & Guts about 10 days away! Let me know what you think about everything going down in the comments below!
