Ultra Street Fighter II 1st Person Mode Confirmed

By Keith MitchellFebruary 13, 2017

Remember when Nintendo and Capcom showed off Ultra Street Fighter II for the switch? If so, then you’ll recall that odd looking bit of the trailer where it looked like the game glitched out. In it was a Shadowloo character that looked a bit like M.Bison, getting belted by Ryu’s or Ken’s Hadoken. Since then, people speculated that perhaps it would be a 1st person mode, while others thought it was a glitch.

Except it was rendered too well to be a glitch, so was it really something else?

Well, turns out that this is, in fact, a 1st person mode, thanks to NintendoEverything and GameXplain. The mode is apparently called Unleash! Ha”DO”ken” and was developed with the Joy-Con controller in mind. In addition, the game will have an art gallery of sorts, that includes over 250 pages of artwork. Hell, that’s definitely going to be something for anyone who loves Street Fighter.

Head over to NintendoEverything to check out what they’ve found out and watch the video below from GameXplain.

Speaking for myself, I don’t know how well a mode based on chucking Hadokens into people’s faces would be. Since we can already do that in every Street Fighter game out there. I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see how it fares when the Switch and Ultra Street Fighter II is released.
