While the sequel to Marvel’s immensely successful Guardians of the Galaxy film, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, isn’t set to be released until Q2 2017, that hasn’t stopped the hype train. Fans of the series have known what to expect in regards to the new team additions, as well as Kurt Russell making an appearance in the film, so to say things are looking interesting would be an understatement.
Of course, this would be the perfect time for Marvel to toss some fuel onto that fire and get the fans hyped even more with this new teaser trailer that was recently released. In the trailer, we’re treated to several seconds of action which shows off the new additions, as well as our favorites from the original. Topping it off, Starlord (Chris Pratt) and Drax (Dave Bautista) share a moment of tenderness with a hug. While that was touching, the final moments with Rocket blasting a hole in a wall or door took the cake, as he was carrying baby Groot on his shoulder. I believe this is the time we’ve seen baby Groot since the original film.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 hits theaters on May 5th, 2017.
