Pokemon Sun and Moon Trailer Features New Starters and Legendary Pokemon

By Clinton Bowman-ChristieMay 10, 2016

Ever since Nintendo announced Pokemon Sun and Moon back in February, the internet has been a buzz with questions about how the game will look. The Pokemon Company of Japan has put a lot of these questions to rest with one of the most unique styled trailers for Pokemon that has been seen in recent memory. The kicker? Not only does it answer the question about how the game looks, it also features the game’s starters and legendaries, and an official cover reveal. Check out the Japanese trailer below:

The American trailer, straight from the Pokemon Company International, also gives us a look at the three starters, Rowlet, Litten and Popplio as well as glimpses at the two legendaries:

As with all starters, they represent the three standard starter types, Grass, Fire and Water. Rowlet is Grass/Flying-type, Litten is  Fire-type and Popplio is Water-type. But the most striking thing, specifically after watching (and listening to) the Japanese trailer, is that the new Alola region is based off of the former European territory and the 50th state of the Union, Hawai’i. Additionally, Pokemon Sun and Moon will release for Nintendo 3DS on November 18th, 2016, putting it smack dab in the holiday season.

Players can bring Pokemon from the 3DS version of Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow, as well as Pokemon X, Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire over to Pokemon Sun and Moon via a future update to the Pokemon Bank Software.

Check back here at The Outerhaven for our Pokemon Sun and Moon review, coming this November.
