Assault Suit Leynos Assaults the PlayStation 4 and PC Summer 2016

By Keith MitchellApril 6, 2016

Once known in North America as Target Earth back during the 16-bit days, the title known as Assault Suit Leynos is making a comeback. Thanks to Rising Star Games and Dracue Software, the game will live again but with HD graphics, while staying true to the original formula that made the game so good in the first place.

You’ll be able to get your hands on Assault Suit Leynos later this Summer 2016. In the meanwhile, be sure to check out our coverage of Assault Suit Leynos from PAX East 2016 here.

Full Press Release:

As Earth reels from the impact of a fourth world war and dwindling resources, an uneasy truce between nations sees mankind reach for the stars. Colonies are settled, resources are mined, and the future starts looking a little brighter. But just as peace finally seems possible, an unknown enemy emerges from the deepest region of space to threaten the very existence of humanity. Only one thing can stop them – It’s time to deploy the Assault Suit Squadron! Gamers will blast through the opposing enemy forces with devastating weapons like machine guns, rocket launchers, and laser beams while discovering the hidden truth behind the invaders.

The slick production values and fast-paced action make Assault Suit Leynos an incredibly addictive game,” said Martin Defries, managing director of Rising Star Games. “This title is both challenging and rewarding and a great example of the type of game, borne out of Japan, that we love working with here at Rising Star Games. Fans of old-school shooters will absolutely feel that familiar thrill and quickening of the pulse when they start blasting wave upon wave of enemies.

Developed by Dracue Software, Assault Suit Leynos will be available summer 2016 on the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and PC through select digital retailers. The physical boxed release of the PlayStation 4 version includes a deluxe double-sided poster featuring artwork from the Japanese release as well as original art from the classic 16-bit release. For more information, follow Rising Star Games on Twitter and visit the official Rising Star Games website.
