Everything Announced in Sony’s Paris Games Week Conference

By Mark SullivanOctober 28, 2015

It can be hard to keep track of everything announced during a big gaming press conference. To aid with that, here’s a list of everything Sony announced during their conference at Paris Games Week yesterday. Note, most demos linked in here were not the ones shown on stage, as Sony released developer diary-style demos to their Youtube channel. If you’d like to watch the conference, as well as see the onstage demos, here’s a link to that. Otherwise, on with the list!

  • Official confirmation of a Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 PS4 bundle with a 1TB HDD, as well as a new trailer revolving around the zombies mode
  • A new Star Wars Battlefront trailer showing off the new heroes announced last week
  • A new trailer for Street Fighter V , a release date (February 16, 2016), and confirmation of new characters, which you can read more about here
  • Tekken 7 is coming to PS4, and has a nostalgic new trailer
  • The beta for Battleborn is coming first to PS4 next year, complete with a new trailer
  • A brand new game called Boundless, with a reveal trailer
  • A music game called Vector, also with a reveal trailer
  • A new No Man’s Sky trailer, with a release window of June 2016
  • Housemarque has a new game coming called Matterfall
  • A new trailer for that new Ratchet & Clank remake/reboot game
  • More gameplay for Horizon Zero Dawn from Guerrilla Games
  • Bloodborne: The Old Hunters will release on November 24, 2015
  • Driveclub Bikes was announced and simultaneously released on PSN
  • Gravity Rush 2 was given two gameplay trailers, which you can read more about here
  • Uncharted 4 Multiplayer was shown, which you can read more about here
  • A demo for Media Molecule’s new game Dreams was shown, and a beta is coming in 2016
  • RIGS Mechanized Combat League, a competitive multiplayer game for Playstation VR, got a new trailer
  • Until Dawn: Rush of Blood was confirmed for Playstation VR, complete with a trailer
  • Another Playstation VR game called Robinson: The Journey, coming in collaboration with Crytek
  • Battlezone gets a trailer and is coming first to Playstation VR
  • Sony Pictures Entertainment made a demonstration for Playstation VR called The Walk, followed up with a montage video
  • Going back to Tekken 7, it’s also coming to Playstation VR
  • Polyphony Digital revealed Gran Turismo Sport, beta testing starts early next year, and will be compatible with Playstation VR
  • Gameplay was shown for the upcoming game WiLD
  • Quantic Dream announced that the well-received tech demo Kara from 2012 is becoming a fully-fledged game, called Detroit

I’ll be honest, I’m rather surprised by the amount of things shown and announced. Sony definitely brought it, and I can’t imagine what they must have saved for their own event (Playstation Experience) in December. I certainly can’t wait.

Mark is a student in Philadelphia currently working towards a B.S. in Information Science & Technology. Starting in 1998 with a hand-me-down PS1 and the demo for Spyro The Dragon (which he played COUNTLESS times), his love of gaming soon elevated when he borrowed Final Fantasy VII from a friend for the first time. Now he's an avid collector, a semi-expert trophy hunter, and an overall lover of video games. Favorite games are Final Fantasy VII (I know, deal with it), Metal Gear Solid 2, Resident Evil 4, Dark Souls, and Psychonauts, to name a few.
