SDCC 2015: Exclusive 30th Anniversary Battletoads Art and Vinyl Album only available at SDCC 2015

By Keith MitchellJuly 9, 2015

Not being attend the 2015 San Diego Comic Con is already bad enough, right? Well if you’re a fan of Rare and especially Battletoads, then what I’m about to tell you is going to make you feel even worse.

Ready?

During the “Rare Chit Chat” panel, it seems that Rare Studios had announced not one but two exclusive items for collectors and fans. First up is the 30th anniversary art print, which is limited to just 400 copies and features a five-color hand-pulled screen print. Created in conjunction with iam8bit, the print has images of timeless Rare created characters. I don’t know about you but I loved Rare’s early work and I’d love to have this print in my game room.

The second piece of exclusive merch is the Battletoads Vinyl Soundtrack, yep I said VINYL! This album inclues collections the Battletoads original soundtrack plus an exclusive “Dark Queen” gatefold variant and “Sound Chip” jacket that can’t be found anywhere else. To top it off, the album also features art from Brooklyn native artists, Nick Gazin. This is also limited and only 300 copies of the soundtrack exist.

Limited quantities of the vinyl soundtrack and the 30th anniversary print will be available for purchase at the Xbox Lounge in the Manchester Hyatt on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, starting each day at 2 p.m. For everyone else, there’s always Ebay, though expect to be gouged heavily.
