Arc Systems now owns the Double Dragon,River City Ransom and Super Dodge Ball rights

By Keith MitchellJune 12, 2015

OH MY! I don’t think anyone saw this coming, Arc Systems now owns the rights to Double Dragon, River City Ransom and Super Dodge Ball. Honestly I can’t tink of a company other than Arc Systems that would do either of these famous titles any justice. Well, maybe DIMPS as well.

Acquired from Million Co., Ltd, al property rights from the preciously mentioned titles that were once owned by Technos (Remember them?)  have been shifted hands over to Arc Systems.

So what does Arc Systems plan to do with them? A Double Dragon vs River City Ransom fighter? A 2.5D side scrolling brawler? What ever they decide to do, it’s good to see that these titles are eventually going to get some use again. I remember playing these as a child in the arcade, on the Nintendo Entertainment system and beyond.

The revival of the daddy of beat em ups? Yeah, I’m all sorts of excited, we’re talking about the crew beyond Guilty Gear and BlazBlue here and I expect something fo epic proportions! However, some where I hear the voices of people praying that whatever they do, it’s better than what WayForward did with Double Dragon Neon. Hey, don’t look at it, I enjoyed that title.

The only question I have now is what is going to happen with the River City Ransom: Underground project that was funded on Kickstarter.
